Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an export license?
No. Libay manages all export compliance and ships under its own logistics framework. You do not need an export license to sell through Libay.
How do I get orders?
Libay partners with international marketplaces (for example, jeel.mv in Maldives). Your product details are shared with these platforms. When a customer places an order, you receive an order notification. You then hand over the product to Libay in India, and Libay manages shipping and delivery to the customer overseas.
Is there a minimum stock or bulk commitment?
No. There is no minimum stock requirement. You only provide products when an order is confirmed.
How does pickup work?
Once an order is confirmed, a Libay pickup agent collects the parcel from your shop or warehouse. Alternatively, you may drop the product at a designated Libay collection point. Pickup options depend on your city, and all instructions are provided in the seller dashboard.
Who handles international shipping and last-mile delivery?
Libay manages the entire logistics chain, including export processing, cross-border shipping, customs clearance, and final delivery to the customer.
When and how do I get paid?
Payments are settled to your registered bank account according to the settlement timeline in your seller agreement. The standard settlement timeline is after order delivery confirmation and any applicable return/refund window.
Who handles customer support and returns?
Libay handles customer communication, order inquiries, and return processing. If a return requires seller action, Libay will notify you with clear resolution steps.
What are the packaging requirements?
Sellers must follow Libay’s packaging guidelines, including secure boxing, accurate labeling, and proper cushioning. Fragile items must be double-packed. Detailed packaging instructions are available in the seller portal.
What happens if an item is damaged in transit?
If damage occurs after handover, Libay manages the claims process and customer support. Depending on the case and insurance coverage, Libay will update you regarding compensation or next steps.
Do I need to change pricing for international markets?
You control your product pricing. You may set standard prices or market-specific pricing. Libay can provide pricing guidance based on demand patterns if required.
How do I track orders and inventory?
All order statuses, pickup updates, shipping progress, and delivery confirmations are visible in the seller dashboard. Inventory management tools are also provided.
Are there fees or commissions?
No. Libay does not deduct any commission from your listed product price. You receive the full price you set. Libay adds its service charges and logistics costs on top of your product price, which are paid by the customer. All charges are fully transparent and displayed in your seller dashboard.
What tax and documents do I need to provide?
You must provide standard business documentation (such as GST registration or equivalent business ID). Libay manages export paperwork and provides settlement statements for accounting and tax filing.
How long does the entire process take?
Transit times depend on the destination and shipping schedule. Typical lead times are displayed in the dashboard.
How do I start / onboard?
Register on the Libay seller portal, complete business verification, upload product listings, and follow the onboarding checklist. Libay will assist you with pickup setup and packaging guidelines
